Before I set out to have Wasatch kettlebells manufactured I compared, tested and scrutinized 50+ different brands out there so I could come up with the best kettlebell on the market. Here's the result of this achievement:

1. Our Kettlebell had to be gravity cast. That means it comes out of the mold with absolutely nothing that has to be done other than the finish coat - no fillers, paste, grinding or seams - the bells are perfect right out of the mold.

2. The finish had to be precise. After testing what is the best, I had the Wasatch finished with a premium electrostatic baked topcoat giving an enhanced durability and unsurpassed feel, something you usually only find in the premium brands at $2/lb+. A kettlebell purist will appreciate the secure grip the Wasatch provides where one can do hundreds of snatch, cleans & other rotational movements in a single workout without annilating their hands. The same handle will also hold chalk well for those with that preference.

3. Handle needed to be designed for all. The variety between brands and inconsistency within different brands needed to be addressed, some handles were made so only lobsta hands could grip, some made the handle so wide that it became a glorified swing weight rather than an all-in-one all-encompassing fitness tool. So we created a more perfect union between handle thickness, width and overall shape. Unlike others, the Wasatch allows you to get a better two handed grip for common swings without loosing the effectiveness of the original handle shape.

4. Now, consider also how the bottom of the Kettlebell is formed. Some companies do nothing leaving the bottom of the Kettlebell irregular and unstable, some machine the bottom without modifying the base so it is tipsy just the same. We were able to increase the diameter of the base without having to change the diameter of the bell: you get a wide, stable, flat base perfect for Renegade rows or other exercises of that nature and more secure on storage racks for safety as well.

5. We also looked at the weight marking and determined the ideal size and process to apply. Most manufacturers do the easy, inexpensive process of a plastic plug or make numbering part of the mold which doesn't always come out very clearly. Instead we have large pound & kilogram markings laser etched into the kettlebell so you get very clear, readable font. With some the numbers are so tiny they are hardly legible. Instead our numbering is very easy to see but doesn't make one side of the bell too flat which interferes with the function of the Kettlebell.

6. Lastly, we combined these usable benefits and made sure the bell looked awesome, or at least we feel! Wasatch kettlebells display a sexy, jet black finish, clean color coding, simple bold markings and precision casting making of a very beautiful bell. For some, the kettlebell - the Wasatch - is not just weight implement but an art, a passion, even a way of life so we created a kettlebell that matches the ideals of this philosophy.
