What a beautiful look! We have 1x8 Cedar in both a Shiplap and T&G. The biggest difference between the two is that the Shiplap comes in Rustic Grade and the T&G comes in Select Grade. You can see that the Rustic Grade is less than half of the price of Select Grade. Expect open holes, splits, and higher installation waste with Rustic Grade. Select Grade still has knots but they are closed tight with few splits and a much higher installation yield.
