Please ensure your 15/17 Macbook Pro has an Expresscard 34 slot prior to inquiring.
Currently, I have this card installed and working within a late 2011 17 Macbook Pro on macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and am seeing real-world USB 3.0 speeds of around 1Gbps = 125MB/s. The Expresscard 34 slot only has enough power to run a single USB 3.0 external drive by itself. You will need a powered USB 3.0 external drive or powered USB 3.0 hub to run multiple USB 3.0 external drives at the same time. The Expresscard is a snug fit, but works and is Super Fast. Don't live another day without it!
For an additional $20, I will install the Expresscard and Drivers for you on your macOS 10.7~.
