This feeder comes with three 90° feeding ports for the chickens to poke their heads inside and eat. This greatly reduces food spills and waste. The ports also have hoods on the them, protecting them from rain, so you can keep your food right in your run and save on coop space. Feeders should be placed on a base like a cinder block for full-grown chickens. Chicks should be around 12 weeks to use this feeder.

Q: How big is it and how much feed does it hold?
A: The feeder measures 12L x11 W x14 H. It can hold 35 lbs of chicken feed.
Q: How often does it need to be refilled?
A: You will need to refill this about every 3 weeks or so for six chickens.
Q: How is this mouseproof?
A: The mice can't get a toe-hold on the smooth surface of the plastic, so they can't climb up. It is important that there is an overhang from the feeder to the cinderblock base (or whatever base you use) to prevent mice from getting in. See my YouTube video of when I tested this feeder with 10 mice for a week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7CI_V1Kpd4
Q: How are they wild bird proof?
A: MOST wild birds don't fly down into the 90°feeding ports. If they do, as, me about a wild bird grate.
Q: How many chickens can use this feeder?
A: I recommend approximately four chickens per feeding port, but this is not a hard and fast rule. All chickens will eventually get their fill.
Q: Can I get additional feeding ports? A: Yes. This feeder can support a maximum of four feeding ports. The four-port feeder is $42 (plus tax).
Q: Is there a waterer to match?
A: Yes! $58 for both feeder and waterer. See my other listings.
Q: Can other birds use this feeder?
A: This feeder can be used for ducks, pheasants, and peafowl, etc... Quail are too small for this feeder, and male turkeys are too large.
Q: How do chickens learn to use this feeder?
A: When putting a feeder out for your chickens for the first time, put a little feed (or treats) on the edge of the ports. Also, pull the feed up into the port so it's not far for the chickens to reach. Soon the chickens will learn to stick their heads in the feeding ports to eat.
Q: At what age can chickens use this feeder?
A: 12 weeks old. Makes sure they can eat without falling in.
Q: How do I order and pay?
A: Text or call me (801-369-4931) and let me know what you'd like. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. Cash and venmo are preferred, but I can also take Paypal and credit cards over the phone. Because Revolutionary Chicken is a business, I need to charge sales tax.
Q: Can I use any type of chicken feed with this feeder?
A: Yes, although crumbles or mash work best.
Q: Is there a DIY option?
A: Yes. I offer just the feeding ports for $7 each. They require a 3 1/2" hole saw bit ($3). After drilling the hole, simply push them in. It's super simple.
Q: Do you ship?
A: Yes. Shipping is about $15. Note--if you want a waterer too, I can ship that inside the feeder, so no extra shipping charge for that.
