I've been selling chicken feeders and waterers since 2019. For the longest time, I had trouble with the nipples leaking after time. I was constantly switching Chinese manufacturers with no luck.
Then I switched to Columbus Aqua. I started selling the Columbus Aqua nipples in January of 2024...and I have not had to replace a single one! BTW, CarolinaCoops.com sells these same nipples for $5/ea.
See: https://carolinacoops.com/products/horizontal-side-mount-chicken-waterer-nipples?_pos=1&_sid=734d99bf6&_ss=r
This kit includes:
*4 Columbus Aqua horizontal mounted nipples. Option for two more: $(4). You can also request autofill cups (same price)
Making this waterer is as easy as it looks (see video).
The barrels come with four nipples, but you can request autofill cups as well. I can also add two more of either (6 total) for $4 extra. Some people love autofill cups, some don't. They get dirty, so you need to twist them upside down to clean them. They will also freeze in the winter even with a heater. The chickens will ignore the autofill cups in the winter and just drink from the nipples (if you have a heater).
The heater I sell goes underneath the waterer. It's a 6" silicone disc that heats up. Using only 25 watts, it's cheap to run and keeps the nipples from freezing down to about 10° F. Please make sure to weatherproof where you plug in an extension cord.
Barrel Waterer DIY Kit: $12 Heater for waterer: $12 Barrel Feeder Kit alone: $25 Waterer & feeder kit combo: $37
If you don't want a kit, I also sell a ready-made 16 gallon waterers for $40. I also sell 5.3 gallon square bucket waterers with two autofill cups and two Columbus Aqua nipples: $25.
Plus sales tax...it's a small business
