High handles - many used containers are designed to be opened while on a trailer. So the handles are lower to the ground. Some new ones are made for permanent storage and the handles are at a more comfortable height.

Lock boxes - used units generally don’t have outside lock boxes for a concealed lock.

Grade of container - new/one trip have had One trip with cargo, cargo worthy can be picked up with cargo inside, wind and water tight cannot be sent on ships any longer and hit the used market because of this - check for structural issues or major repairs.
