Drought is really bad and Farmers told me that reason no one has any STRAW to sell this year is because they could not grow wheat due to drought. But I found one last farmer willing to sell me about 25 bales of his last straw, then there won't be any till next year. With this record heat starting 100 degrees in June through August, 12 inches of straw is really needed for all our gardens, especially new ones. I'm m going to buy 12 for school since there won't be any more available and there will be 12 left for you all to split. I have a trailer and truck till 3pm today, so if you want to come help unload 24 bales with us and buy Straw bales at our cost of $10 to get them today as part of our " What to do in Drought Workshop" today which we will do in Classroom Garden this aftn noon till 7pm as Lab and instead of Livestream this week, but learn hands on in Food. Forest, RSVP this morning that you are coming please at noon to be part of this Most Vital Workshop you will ever get. Past students have not put down enough mulch nor planted cover crops and Sunflowers or Sun Chokes for Shade on West Side and suffered loss of new trees and plants. We will let you dig out Sun Chokes today too $7 each. Bring Gloves, Small Shovels or Trowels, sunscreen, water bottles and your own chairs for part of workshop. WE CAN'T EXPRESS HOW IMPORTANT TODAY'S LESSON IS. IT IS NOT LIKE END OF WINTER COVER CROPPING AND MULCHING.
