Here's how to select the right medicine ball for your training regime and personal preference:

1. Traditional Medicine Balls - these are the classic rubber medicine balls great for holding when doing popular exercises (I know, you're going to do Russian twists first workout, aren't you?). You can toss these but they are not made for high impact; being solid, firm construction are often preferred for many traditional exercises.

2. Velocity Balls - an upgrade from classic med balls, our Velocity balls are a specially formulated rubber ball with a perfect bounce and come with enhanced grip as well. They can take significantly more abuse than classic style and additional movements can be completed with their rebound characteristics.

3. Slam balls have become a staple in many strength and personal training gyms. Designed for high impact throwing and smashing against the ground and can add some instability to your movements. They are filled with sand which makes them soft and flexible. While not ideal for catch/toss or partner drills they work great as a general weight implement with the broad range of sizes available.

4. Wall balls are a more current version of the old school "Rocky" Leather Medicine Balls except usually larger and built with higher quality materials. These are the best for partner drills, target drills (like wall ball tosses), etc. Unlike any competing wall balls filled with sand that leak and become lopsided over time, we use a propriatary internal filler keeping them more uniform & hold up much better than even elite models costing 2-3X more. As my favorite especially for partner drills I have personally found these to be the most versatile as a trainer and coach.
