Price Reduced! Once riding season ends, I'm pulling the parts off this and selling the frameset only. Last chance!

Switched over to a really nice set of clinchers wheels with new tires. Wheels recently service by The Bike Shoppe.

Beautiful Giordana XL Super, Italian made beauty constructed from super light and strong Excell Podium tubing. Bike with tubulars was 17 lbs 15 0zs.

This was Giordana's top bike in the 90s and is easily the equal or better of so many of the big name Italian bikes. In fact I've sold off a Colnago, two De Rosa, a Basso, and other high end steel rides while keeping these Giordana's because to me they are the superior riding bike.

I’ve actually got two of these because they are such great rides. This is the better built of the two but I am keeping the other one for sentimental reasons. Just seems silly to have two of these.

56 CM frame. Pretty much 56cm CTC top tube and 56cm CTC seat tube.

Do not mistake this for the cheap Giodano brand junk sold on Amazon.

Information I got from Giordana on the history of these bikes. As you see, the famous Dario Pegoretti had a hand in the design:

"The Giordana frames were quite nice and, especially the ones built were Excel tubing, were pretty unique and cutting edge for the time. The geometry was dialed in by the owner of Gita with assistance from Dario Pegoretti, who built most of the prototype frames. The head engineer at Excel, Isadoro, was a bit of a “mad scientist” who came up with some wild ideas to try for tubing. Someplace here we have a superlight steel tubeset with a carbon fiber wrap on the inside so it could be welded! Excel had the capability to make one-off tubesets long before anyone else did and were able to do a lot of experimentation. Unfortunately, Isadoro disappeared during a sailing expedition and most of this capability was lost. This was also around the time aluminum frames were becoming commonplace in the peloton and steel was on its way out. There were some truly revolutionary prototypes built about this time that never saw production. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it."

I put a lot of money into building up this one since the ride quality of my first one was the best of all the steel bikes I have. This one is in great shape with a few small paint chips from being used. Also one small ding on the top tube that was there when I got it.

This bike only has 255 miles since I had it built up. Used a mix of brand new and excellent shape used parts.
