Wonderful riding Kuwahara Count, pretty rare find in the U.S. but more common in other countries. This is a 1983 bike I picked up locally this year as another project and to enjoy. Some of my best rides were on this one as it's so fun and comfortable.

Kuwahara is quite famous for thier 80's BMX bikes but those also made top quality road bikes both under their own name and for several other famous brands.

Kuwahara was also known for high quality paint jobs and even though this one has seen too much wear over the years you can still see it presents itself quite well. I have done a fair amount of paint touch up that's hard to see in these pictures.

First picture is how the bike is now set up and being sold, minus the pedals.

Seatpost- 56.5 CM ctc

Toptube- 57.5 CM ctc

Standover- 83 CM

Bike is ready to go as it. I spent a few hours yesterday on the wheels that came on this sorting them out. Hubs serviced with full cleaning, new bearing and lube. I also cleaned and lubed the freewheel on the rear. Took some metal polish to the hubs to bring back the mirror-like shine. I had been riding it with a different set of wheels this summer. All other parts cleaned, degreased and serviced when I got it. I spent a lot of time on the cosmetics of this bike. Several rounds of polish for all the metal bits to being back their shine and then the same with the paint to get it gleaming like new.

Cost of tasteful upgrades:

Shimano 600 AX seatpost - $75 (used)

Selle Italia Gel saddle -$74 (like new but used)

Bottle cage x 2 - $20

Bottle cage bolts x 4 -$5

Total put into bike: $174 plus all my time and the various supplies used sorting it out.

Offering this up for sale as my bike cave is overflowing. I tend to pick up a lot of local bikes that need attention, sort them out, then pass them on at a loss. Just good fun and nice to see these old beauties back on the road being used as they should be.

The Keo pedals in the pictures will not be sold with the bike but I can provide some flat pedals if you want.
