The terms "Audiophile" and "Mint" are thrown about with reckless abandon in the world of audio, and while this Amp may not be "Mint" as that moniker should be reserved for equipment that is hard to distinguish from new, it's about as close as one can get to it. You would be hard pressed to find fault with this beautiful machine. Especially since It has a brand-new black faceplate, and new beautiful Dark Walnut wooden case, that is actually much nicer than the original with wood veneer case most came with. This Marantz is drop dead gorgeous! It has also been serviced; along with added new cool running blue lights installed that really make this unit look like a million bucks.. This beauty puts out a warm, accurate uncolored sound, meaning it does not put out artificial bass or treble, it effortlessly reproduces the music with brilliant highs, sweet mids, and deep impactful lows without the nonsense, or fear of listening fatigue that a lot of newer amps put out. The way music was meant to be heard, at least in my opinion. It also has a brilliant phono section, and great headphone amp. Two things these vintage Marantz's were known for. It is a work of art, and a centerpiece to be enjoyed even while it's not in use.

They don't make them like this any longer. I have owned a new top of the line Marantz PM-10 that was $9,000 and to be honest I like the way this sounded over the new one. Seeing is believing, and hearing is falling in love!
