What is a Back Box? It is an enclosure that you install between you studs and prewire your speaker cables into it. Your sheet rockers cut the drywall around your speaker opening so that you don't have to. When you install your speakers the cable is right there and you don't have to dig for it in your finished wall. Your speakers are Acousticly Matched and sound better becaused this space is Acoustic Enhanced.
