Vintage 1950"s Hakata Urasaki Clay Japanese Figures (3) Sitting Figures in very good condition and a great accent to any display. Each one is individually molded and hand painted.\

1. Japanese older man with a scroll sitting in cross position. In very good condition for as old as they are. The details and hand painting is intricately detailed. The facial features are very life like looking.He is about 5 1/2 inches tall and about 4 1/2 inches wide. The markings on the bottom of this one has worn off. But I know from speaking with my mother these are from occupied Japan when My Father was stationed there.\
2. The second one is an older man in sitting position holding a Japanese jug with writing on it. he is heavier than the other two but the details are intricately hand painted and very life like.He is sitting on a mat with his legs crossed. There are Japanese markings on the bottom.\
3. The third one is an older man with a chisel and clay doll on his lap. He has a cap on his head which he is pulling with his other hand. The details are intricately done and it is hand painted with muted colors. There is a small area in the front near the middle where the paint has chipped and the clay is showing through. He is sitting in a crossed position with his feet together. He is numbered and the seal is there but not readable. A Hakata doll is a traditional Japanese unglazed clay doll originally from the city of Fukuoka, part of which was previously named Hakata before the city was merged in 1889. They are known throughout Japan and overseas as outstanding examples of Japanese aesthetic beauty. They are one of Fukuoka's most iconic symbols and enduring crafts. These are from my mom's collection and have been on display in her home since the 1950's.”
