These drivers work but could use replacement foam surrounds as shown in pics. Foam surround kits are sold online for relatively cheap. Vintage Univox amps are good quality to begin with, and pairing the quality of vintage JBL drivers just adds to that.
$600 cash, Venmo, PayPal or cashapp. No trades. Text preferred. If this doesn’t sell quickly I’ll just remove the woofers and sell them on a larger online audience platform like eBay, reverb, etc. along with some of the other vintage audio items I’ve got or will be listing shortly. Look at my other ads to see a glimpse of what I have available.
The JBL Aquarius IV 4 S109 series used this driver, as mentioned in the snippet from online below explaining the difference between LE8T models, the second paragraph describes this type.
“The JBL LE8T and LE8T-H are basically the same aquaplassed cone full range driver, the first being Alnico, the second ferrite. The voice coil is underhung, and it is really quite a nice speaker. This is the speaker which is featured in many JBL catalogues in the '60's and '70's, maybe into the '80's, is used in the L44 with a drone cone and can be mounted in a 3.3 cu ft cabinet for 30Hz to 15k full range performance as described in the JBL Pro enclosure guide.
The JBL LE8T-2 is a quite different driver. It is the woofer used in the JBL S-109 Omni-directional towers with an LE-20-1 tweeter mounted in a diffuser. This driver is identical to the JBL 2115 full range marketed for distributed sound systems. This speaker's cone is not aquaplassed and the moving mass is about two thirds that of the LE8T. The parameters of both the LE8T/H and the 2115 are listed in the JBL T/S charts if you want to study the significant differences between these two drivers.”
