Baseball's Most Infamous Team! Only one 1919 "Black Sox" team set of cards is known to exist, and it is the only set which includes all eight of the banished players. The original "Black Sox" cards of any kind are among the most sought after cards in existance. The 25 card reprint set also features all eight "Black Sox" players, including "Shoeless Joe" Jackson and star pitcher Eddie Cicotte. These cards show the real 1919 Chicago White Sox as they actually appeared, the team that threw the World Series! The unique original set was auctioned off in 1991 at a Sotheby auction for over $40,000. It was the pnly known set in the world of the 1919 "Black Sox" baseball team. The original set was later offered for sale at $250,000.

The 25-card reprint set features every member of the 1919 World Series team. The cards depicting the "8 Men Out" have a black bordar around them, but all the players on the roster are accounted for in this set (even Charles Comiskey).

Please note that the sets are a facsimile - in style, size and content - of the only known original set of this team in existance. All that is different in this set from the original is the biographies of each pf the eight players indicted and later banished from baseball and the black bordar around their cards. Plus there is a full color card of Shoeless Joe Jackson - a prised collector's item. An original Shoeless Joe Jackson card is one of the most sought after collector cards in all baseball. The other cards in the sets are the rest of the 1919 White Sox team from the original team photo set, just as it was released many years ago.
