Excellent Quality Intermediate Full Size (4/4) violin built in the style and dimensions of Stradivarius c. 1715. This violin was made by one luthier from beginning to end from wood aged and air dried more than 12 years. This is an instrument of solid tone woods -- no laminates. Price is firm. This would be a great transition for someone playing a standard student violin. This violin could easily be played through high school. The top is beautiful medium grained spruce; the two piece Maple back has lightly defined medium flaming that continues through the ribs. It is finished with a Dark German Oil varnish that gives the grain of the wood a satin gloss luster and allows the instrument to breathe.

The fittings (chin rest, and tuning pegs) are standard solid ebony with inlaid ornamentation. The tailpiece is set with a Wittner Stable style tuner. It can be set up with a Wittner composite 4 tuner tailpiece (great for students) for and additional $25. It is in "like new" condition. It has been stored in a humidified room.

It has been fitted with new Dominant Strings (G,D,A) and a Pirastro Gold Series Wondertone String on the E. My daughter described its tone to me as "balanced, maybe leaning a little to the deep, with good volume." This violin's construction is such that it will continue to develop an even more mature tone as it is played over the next few years. The nut, bridge and sound post were recently adjusted by a well respected local luthier that I trust. A great violin at this price!

It is ready to play. I am offering it with a student style case, rosin, a set of back-up strings, and a nice quality Brazilwood bow.
