I purchased this vintage (1965) Framus "Texan" 12 string several years ago. It was in rough shape when I purchased it -- the base of the neck had collapsed inward from string tension over the years. It had not cracked the top, but had warped the wood slightly inward. I had it humidified, repaired, and reinforced by a reputable local luthier. At the same time I had the fret edges trimmed, polished and leveled. He also adjusted the truss rod. It has been made very playable.
The neck is now completely straight and reinforced so that it won't have the same issue again. There are a few little dings in the finish (as you would expect from a 60-year-old instrument,) These have been sealed. It has a solid spruce top and maple sides -- definitely nitro cellulose laquer. Everything is original. It plays great! In recent years, these old guitars have become quite collectible -- Framus closed their doors in 1975. Price is firm. I can take cash or Venmo.
