Military surplus item. Military uses these for the pre-packaging of medical supplies for field hospitals. Except for the 8 latches, the chest is all aluminum. These chest seal so well that there are pressure release screws located on each end of the chest, one for each half of the chest. The chest comes with an internal separator that latches onto the top portion of the chest dividing the two halves. The top portion has a rubber seal that the edge of the bottom half sets into. These chest are often referred to as bug proof, water proof and bear proof. Dimensions are 31 inches right to left, 19 1/2 inches front to back and 21 inches tall. There are two of these available, the one not in a box is very slightly used while the cardboard box contains a new chest. Used box is $50, the new is $60.
