The Velbon Sherpa Pro CF 530 is a carbon fiber tripod of Gitzo-like quality for a much better price. The line was called by two different names, I think based on the continent in which it was being sold). It's very sturdy, appropriate for a full size DSLR system, with a weight capacity of 8.8 lbs. Maximum, minimum, and folded heights in inches without ball head are 63.5, 6.81, and 21.85, respectively. Tripod weighs 3.11 lbs and has 3-section legs. Centre column is metal, can be shortened (section removable), and has a weight hook. Turning the threaded rubber feet makes small height adjustments and will expose metal spikes. Some superficial paint scrapes from canyon hiking. All twist rings and controls have smooth action. The Velbon PH-263QL is a ball head with quick release plate. It's 3.86 in height and weighs 9.87 ounces.
