Two lanterns, all require 4 D batteries. The lanterns have had little use. Purchased to replace old ones used for camping, but then family promptly stopped camping. Intermittent use when power goes out, but don't need as many as we have. $5 each for lantern with a handle and $7 for lantern that is a lamp and clock (this one never used). Both for $10.
