ZelleNice, clean, comfy, reliable Jamis Ventura Elite road bike for sale.
Lightweight alloy frame with carbon fiber fork and carbon tail for great power transfer and a smoother ride.
This bike was around $1500 new and has been well maintained.
The groupset is mostly Shimano 105--which is their solid, upper-mid-level group--just below Ultegra. The drivetrain is 2x10 speed... so a great all around road bike--for anything from entry level racing to commuting to light road touring to gran fondos and century rides. It's a decent climber and is a solid and sharp on the descents as well.
(This bike was originally a triple so the rear / left shifter is capable of that if you want to convert it back to a triple at some future point (mainly by swapping out the crankset back to a 3x... which are readily available online, ebay, etc for about $100).
The sizing sticker on the frame says 48cm... but the top tube measurement is closer to 51cm... and the seat tube measurement is about 45cm. So it could work for riders ranging from around 5'-0" up to 5'-7-ish. (The steer tube is uncut so there are a lot of options for stem heights and fitting.) ALL bicycle frames are unisex... so if you are a man, woman, boy, or girl, this frame will work for you--if you are in the right height range.
Mechanically the bike is very sound with no known issues. It is shifting and braking perfectly. The tires have plenty of life in them and the tubes are newer and have no leaks. (I took it in to Contender Bikes last week to have them check it out and the only thing they could find was a minor adjustment needed on the rear shifting--which they did.)
Cosmetically the bike is also very good-with very little wear and tear on the frame or components. The main color is kind of a metallic coppery color that translates more like orange in photos. Juxtaposed with the nude carbon fork and tail and the white and black graphics, it really pops and looks great.
I just detailed the bike top to bottom and lubricated everything that needs to be lubricated. So it's 100% ready for the road today.
I have some basic flat pedals on it right now for easy test riding... but I have some other pedal options available if you need / prefer something you can clip into... including Speedplay, SPD, LOOK, Time, and SPD-SL. (I've tried just about every pedal and cleat system known to man over the years so I'm happy to give you my input on that if you need it.)
Jamis isn't as well known as the "big Four" (Trek, Specialized, Giant, Cannondale) but they've been around as long as most of them (1980's). And their frames are all made in the same Taiwanese factories... and all use the same basic Shimino components. (All major bicycles brands are basically just design and marketing firms now; none of them actually make frames or build / assemble bikes anymore.)
This is a great starter bike for someone getting into cycling without spending a ton of money. Ride quality and position is going to be similar to a Specialzed Ruby or Cannondale Synapse or Trek Domane or Giant Defy... etc. Which are all solid, all-around, "endurance" oriented bikes... built more for comfort on longer rides than for racing. If you can afford it, a "full carbon" bike will typically have a bit smoother ride overall... but things like tires and saddles can even the playing field quite a bit.
This bike has done a few Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks century rides... and was perfect for those. I just "upgraded" to a newer bike and don't ride this one as much anymore.
