Aggressive Next-Generation Styling

• Aggressive next-generation styling takes the Hyper Naked look to a new level with sharper, more defined lines and minimal bodywork. A bi-functional LED headlamp is shrouded in a cover, creating a compact and unified relationship with the fuel tank and tail section, while a more forward-leaning stance maintains the edgy street aesthetic synonymous with the MT name.

Powerful 890cc Three-Cylinder Engine

• Yamaha's renowned 890cc liquid-cooled CP3 engine is light, powerful and provides a thrilling wave of torque from low rpms. A combination of carefully tuned induction sound and distinctive crossplane triple exhaust note provides a resonance which only heightens the feeling of acceleration. Throttle valves are governed by the Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) system enabling finer actuation and precise control.

Lightweight CF Die-Cast Aluminum Frame

• The MT-09 features an advanced, lightweight aluminum frame refined to showcase the MT's signature agility. To ensure both straight-line stability and handling performance, the balance of longitudinal, lateral and torsional rigidity are all carefully considered and finely tuned. The frame is manufactured using Yamaha's groundbreaking controlled fill (CF) die casting technology which contributes to its light weight.

Advanced Six-Axis IMU

• The MT-09 features an advanced six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that matches the base performance of proven IMU in the YZF-R1 Superbike. Data collected from the IMU and wheel speed sensors enable a high-tech suite of rider aids including a four-mode Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel Lift Control System (LIF) and a two-mode Brake Control System. Each of these systems can be turned off and Traction Control, Slide Control and Lift Control can have their levels of intervention adjusted to preference. With its best-in-class electronic control technology, the MT-09 gives you the ultimate versatility in varying weather and surface conditions.

Five-Inch Full-Color TFT Display with Integrated Switchgear

• A full-color five-inch TFT display provides the rider with the option of four different themes to suit specific riding situations or individual preference. The display is navigated through integrated handlebar switches. Button shape and feel have been extensively refined to provide intuitive operation in a compact, easy-to-use solution.

Smartphone Connectivity

• Riders can link their smartphone to the TFT display via Yamaha's free Y-Connect app to receive message notifications, calls and listen to music (through use of an aftermarket Bluetooth® headset, not provided). Additionally, full turn-by-turn navigation is available through the Garmin® StreetCross app to make each journey easier.

Customizable YRC Ride Modes

• Owners can customize their riding experience via Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) settings, which allow the selection of engine power characteristics and electronic intervention levels to suit conditions or rider preference. For quick, easy selections, three integrated riding modes are programmed with factory settings to suit different situations: SPORT, STREET and RAIN. Additionally, riders can create two custom programs with tailored settings to suit exact preferences. YRC settings can be customized either directly within the dashboard menu or on a smartphone via the Y-Connect app.

Powerful 890cc Liquid-Cooled Three-Cylinder DOHC Fuel-Injected Engine

• The MT-09 features the renowned 890cc liquid-cooled CP3 engine. Bore and stroke of 78.0mm × 62.1mm and an 11.5:1 compression ratio provide outstanding torque with thrilling power delivery characteristics. The combination of exceptional combustion efficiency and light weight results in an impressive 48 MPG.

Efficient Fuel Delivery System

• The fuel delivery system features fuel injectors attached to the throttle valve side of the throttle bodies. The injectors spray at the back of the intake valve heads to promote atomization of the fuel and reduce adhesion of fuel particles to the port walls, producing outstanding combustion efficiency. The throttle valve is operated using the Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) electronic system which has been widely proven on R-series models as well as the earlier MT-09 models.
