As a member of pop-punk kings blink-182, Tom DeLonge had long established himself as rock royalty by the mid-2000s. But the restlessly ambitious musician expanded his musical vision further with Angels & Airwaves, which augmented blink-182’s punchy anthems with deeper lyrics and a vastly expanded sonic palette.
Pulling more from Radiohead and Pink Floyd than blink-182 influences like the Descendants, I-Empire, the group’s 2007 second album, is, as Billboard notes, “a sweeping conceptual piece with a message as big as its sound and just a bit more enigmatic.”
Led by the shimmering guitars of lead single (and fan fave) “Everything’s Magic,” the album imbues its driving rock ambitions with glints of techno and industrial, as DeLonge’s lyrics veer more philosophical and personal.
“A rock & roll band has to earn every piece of its credibility and every fan that it has,” DeLonge once said of Angels & Airwaves. On I-Empire, mission accomplished and then some.
I took pictures of the front, back, and all the corners so you could see the condition of the album for yourself. It is a little hard to tell because of the plastic but you can tell pretty well what the corners look like. There is also some small wear on the top where the vinyl meets the sleeve but it’s so small you can barely even see it in the pictures, so it’s pretty minor.
Let me know if you have any questions. I’m a collector myself so I treat all the albums as if they are my own! Also, I’m not someone who is going to keep lowering and lowering the price, I mostly just forget, so if you’re interested just make me an offer! I am very open to reasonable offers so message me! Not open to trades though! Thanks!
