If you are looking for that flashy chestnut mare without the attitude you've found her. This mare is Sage, she is laid back, family horse gentle and easy to get along with. She is 7 years old and not registered.
16+-hands and excellent conformation. Deep girth, straight legs, pretty head and neck and a wither to hold a saddle in place. She is an easy keeper for a Thoroughbred.
She has had 1 filly foal(filly is gorgeous and correct) and needed no foaling assistance. She was an excellent mother. She is currently open for breeding and will make excellent half draft babies $$$
She has had lots of riding but I would still consider her a green broke horse, no fancy buttons, just the basic walk, trot lope, whoa and back up. She does neck rein a bit. She is very gentle, has not spooked easily and has been ridden on a lot of rocky trails. She is a quick learner and wants to do the job. She has a nice mix of go & whoa. Good ground manners and no bad habits. She is friendly and easy to catch in a large corral, often meeting me at the fence. Easy to trim, groom and saddle. Sage is just a really nice mare who needs a rider.
PLEASE NOTE: I have not been able to keep her sound consistantly, she limps on and off but is better in sandy or softer ground. So I am selling her as BROODMARE SOUND ONLY at this time. She does have a clubby foot (her front hoof is a little smaller than the others and grows more uprightly) that does not hinder her broodmare abilities. But may be part of the cause of the inconsistant lameness. She is up to date on a barefoot trim. Our farrier says she has LIGHTLY foundered before but she isn't now.
All in all she is an excellent prospect that has had lots of groundwork and sacking out as well as hours and miles of riding.
She is very resonably priced at $2500. Cash
Again, she is located in scenic southern Utah. And I mean SOUTHERN Utah, south of Zion National Park near the Arizona border. She is worth the drive.
