Full story: I am a small engine mechanic and this was brought to me to repair. I quoted them $250-400 parts+labor but was backed up 3-4 months. They decided they couldn't wait and just bought a new $15,000+ machine. So I bought it off of them like I do a lot of machines. It has been sitting covered for a few years now in my lot. The story I have is one of the valves was sticking occasionally causing backfiring/ low power randomly on one cylinder. I diagnosed and repaired this easy problem and also found that the reason the valve was sticking was because coolant was leaking on one head into the combustion chamber. So the head gasket on one head it's slightly blown. Compression on this cylinder reads about 145 where the other cylinder without a blown gasket reads 190.

They had just barely purchased brand new $150 grass catcher bags for it. I just don't have the time to work on it. If I fixed up this machine I would sell for about $2,500-3000 bucks with the accessories(plow, bagger, vacuum, trailer).

What I have done: Fully rebuilt the carburetor Fixed the sticking valve I can get it to start momentarily with starter fluid but there's just not enough compression on that one cylinder to keep it going.

What will need to be done? \

• cylinder head needs to be pulled off; inspected for cracks and new head gasket installed
