Full story: I am a small engine mechanic and this was brought to me to repair. I quoted them $150-400 parts+labor but was backed up 3 months. They decided they couldn't wait and just bought a new $15,000+ machine. So I bought it off of them like I do a lot of machines. I have not dove into the repairs or exact diagnosis at all. It has been sitting covered for a few years now in my lot. The story I have is one of the valves was sticking occasionally causing backfiring/ low power randomly on one cylinder. This was an intermittent problem that went away for a year or so and came back . It's a twin cylinder so only one cylinder was doing it and it was still running off the other cylinder. They had just barely purchased brand new $150 grass catcher bags for it. I just don't have the time to work on it. If I fixed up this machine I would sell for about $2,500-3000 bucks with the accessories(plow, bagger, vacuum, trailer).

What will need to be done? \

• pull off the valve cover and check push rods/rocker arm. Maybe take off cylinder heads and check the valves. Likely clean off carbon. \
• it's going to need a carburetor clean because absolutely every machine does after 3 months.\

-It's going to need a new $30 battery.
