I have had this gelding for 6 or 7 years. Came off a sheep and cattle ranch. He had a large fistula withers sore when I got him from crappy equipment that was being used on him. This was fixed by our vet and does not seem to bother him at all. He has a quirk on the ground. Mostly just wide eyed with new people. Once saddled it isn't an issue. Actually does better with women and kids. The more he gets to know you the better he is. He would do best with a women who won't be scared of a snort or two on the ground. He is one of the best trail horses I have ever had when on his back. Sure footed, will cross anything including standing water. I have had my young kids ride him a lot in the mountains. He has been my go to trail horse for the tag along friends that have no idea how to ride. We have used him to pony our colts when breaking them to ride. As long as you can be patient with him on the ground and move slow he is fine. He had a bad experience with previous owner who tried to doctor fistula withers issue for a year on his own before selling him to me. I believe this is why patience is a must on the ground. He is worried about being hurt. Good home is a priority.
