Live in Bountiful area and work in Sandy. I can meet you easily anywhere in between.
Not interested in any trades, cash only. Price is firm and not negotiable.
This is your chance to get an enthusiasts level motherboard for the price of entry level.
Here is why you would spend the extra money on the Strix-E specifically, compared to a "baseline" X870E motherboard.
Standard X870E: Usually offers one PCIe Gen5 M.2 slot (for your main SSD) and the rest are Gen4. Strix X870E-E: Offers three PCIe Gen5 M.2 slots. Why it matters: If you are a video editor or data hoarder who plans to buy multiple ultra-fast Gen5 NVMe drives in the future, this board has the lanes to support them without slowing down.
You Want Power Delivery (VRMs) Standard X870E: Might have 14 or 16 power stages rated at 70A or 80A. They might get warm under full load. Strix X870E-E: Has an 18+2+2 power stage design rated for 110A. Why it matters: This is "enthusiast grade" power. It can handle a flagship Ryzen 9 9950X pulling maximum wattage for hours (e.g., rendering) without the motherboard breaking a sweat.
Superior Networking (5Gb Ethernet) Standard X870E: Almost always comes with 2.5Gb LAN (Ethernet). Strix X870E-E: Comes with 5Gb Realtek LAN. Better future proofing support. Why it matters: If you have a high-speed home network (NAS server or 5Gb fiber internet), this port allows you to move files twice as fast as a standard board.
NitroPath DRAM Technology This is a new feature specific to the higher-end ASUS X870E boards (Strix-E and Crosshair Hero). The Tech: The physical RAM slots use a different internal pin design ("gold finger" pins are shorter) and reinforced retention. The Benefit: It reduces electrical noise interference, theoretically allowing for higher stable RAM speeds (roughly 400 MT/s higher) compared to standard slots.
Quality of Life (Q-Design) Cheaper boards are getting better at this, but the Strix-E has the full suite: PCIe Slot Q-Release Slim: You don't even need to press a button to remove your GPU anymore; you just tilt it and pull. M.2 Q-Latch: No tiny screws for your SSDs.
Q-Code LED: A digital readout that tells you exactly why your PC isn't booting (e.g., error code "55" for RAM), rather than just a vague blinking light.
