I installed Linux Mint on this Macbook, a beginner friendly Linux distribution that brought this sturdy Macbook back to life. I couldn't believe how snappy the user interface ran after installation. I tested games from Steam on this, I managed to achieve 30 FPS on Skyrim and 120FPS+ on Portal. They are older games, but with this being a mostly work/home computer, retro gaming can be easily achieved on the side. Linux Mint also comes with free security updates, all of your basic needs for a computer environment, an Office Suite of packages, and an application interface for downloading whatever you need. There is also documentation online, and a great community forum to help you if you have any questions. And I am also free to answer any questions as well.
