Jocko is a highly energetic and loyal dog, but he's become more than I can handle in my current circumstances. He needs more space and time than I have for him right now as I no longer work from home, so he is crated most hours of most days.
I got him from Facebook Marketplace when he was 8-9 weeks old. His dad is an American Bulldog, and his mom is a Golden Doodle, but you wouldn't guess that from looking at him. I had a DNA test done through Wisdom Panel to confirm his parentage, as well as test for traits and health concerns. This full report is available upon request. He was neutered at Cache Humane Society, and is up to date on all his shots.
He's a smart boy! Automatic dog collars became obsolete as he figured out that he could intentionally trigger it by bracing himself and growling/barking quietly until it got to the "pause" stage, then he would bark a ton while it was paused. He's done much better with manually triggered training collars. He's a climber too, and was jumping the 4 ft fence I had set up for him, so I got 6 foot kennel panels and he climbs them no problem, so I've had to solve that with additional hardware to prevent him from getting out of his dog run.
He is extremely nervous about new people, so introductions will need to happen while he wears his muzzle and he gets fed treats. He can be unpredictable at times and has snapped and nipped at people, including my kids. He's never broken the skin, but he has caused nicks and bruises. I think he would thrive on a large property, ideally with other animals that he could be a part of a bigger family and system. He is eager to please and would take to training well with someone who has the knowledge and experience to work with him. He thinks he is a guard dog and could be trained well to fit that purpose if needed.
I love this pup, he deserves a chance to be with someone who has the time and energy he needs. I'll gladly give all the dog supplies I have along with him.
He is also listed on the Utah Humane Society's rehome listings
