Meet Blondie, a good old horse. Blondie would be best suited for a kid or small adult or as a pasture pet.
Pros: She is broke to ride and is neck reined. Blondie is very push button easy to ride. She is a big kind mare and very soft in the face. Shes great to throw your kids on her to walk or trot circles to build confidence and not worry about them. She has been rode many miles in the mountains in her life and packed out salt so she’s also great for trail rides. She has a lot of life left and carries a really nice walking pace. You can throw a saddle on her after months of sitting and can get right on with no worries. She is also very easy to catch.
She is not skiddish or scared of large equipment or vehicles. She stands tied, leads great, no kick, buck, bite, and doesn’t pull back. Trailers nice as well.
Cons: She has been a bit harder to keep weight on this year so we have been giving her senior equine to help keep some weight on her. Having her teeth floated might help.
We also found an abscess in her right front foot. Although we have opened it and drained it two weeks ago, she still has painful steps here and there. She does best with front shoes on if she is being ridden frequently. She carries smaller riders with more ease and is not currently 100% sound.
Lastly, Blondie does prefer to be ridden in a group setting if being ridden out on trails. At the house she’s great to ride solo.
