My 10-year-old son is trying to earn some money for his savings account so he has these plates that are from the DI and we have used acrylic paint and the method of pouring the paint and swirling the paint using toothpicks to get the effect they have been clear coated with a non-toxic clear coat so they are safe to eat off of and as far as washing them I don't know about dishwasher safe but hand wash should do nothing to ruin them if you are interested in helping out a little guy earn some money by him putting this working and whatever it would be much appreciated let me know they're pretty cool plates they glow in the dark too so anyways this was his idea and I'm just helping him get it going thanks
