Portia is a 9-year-old sweetheart who clearly didn’t get the memo about “acting her age.” The second the leash or treats come out, she lights up with youthful excitement—but most of the time, this lovely girl is happiest right by her people, cuddled on the couch or supervising your yoga routine (her downward dog form is elite). On walks, she gets very excited about seeing other dogs and will need help building confidence to help her stay calm and assured. Toys aren’t really her thing unless food is involved, but a stuffed Kong? Now that’s her love language. A calm environment and patient guidance will help her continue to build confidence as she heals and settles in.
