Contrary to other planters made of various metals/wood types, these are made purely from solid cedar wood, a wood that’s naturally rot AND insect resistant.
Other planter boxes claim their metal supports increase stability, and though that may be true, it’s probably overkill, which comes at your expense due to higher pricing for metal braced planters. As seen in listing, this planter box can hold my weight with no problem, and includes interior bracing of the same design to prevent soil from pushing outwards against the wood.
At Tecton Woodworks, we value customer satisfaction, and that includes being open and honest about realistic expectations in our products, so these planters have been modified from a typical small cedar planter box by adding interior bracing to support weight and further longevity, and by including pre-drilled drainage holes to promote better plant health, while avoiding the raised price of a metal braced planter but delivering sufficient functionality.**
This specific planter box is 46x16x16” but I have 2 sizes available for purchase, price will vary based on which option:
46x16x16”: $80 16x16x16”: $40
Open to custom orders as well depending on the complexity of the desired custom box due to time constraints.
*free delivery within Utah County and Salt Lake County
**full transparency: It’s recommended to avoid planting trees, bushes, or any plant with a thicker root system as it may not be suitable for this planter box, as it would grow excessively large inside the box under the soil. Otherwise, common vegetables, fruits, flowers, etc will all be fine with just wood planters.
