So I built this work bench for my garage, I love it, it is there when I need it and goes away when I don't. I am a Chevy guy and love the old square boddies, so that is what I did. If you are interested in having one of these, I can get my hands on a couple of other Chevy tailgates, or can even look around for you Ford guys. The plan wasn't to use the chains but it ended up working out the best. But it is bolted to my wall with lags into the studs and has plenty of backbone. The tailgate handle works just like if it was on the pickup. You can see I also see from the photos I use it as a cooking table when I don't want my house to smell like a fast food joint. I liked the patina look so I just clear coated the tailgate, but I could also paint it if that is what you are interested in.
