Trip #11 on the 75” X 18” Summer Solstice houseboat at Antelope Point is possibly the best way you can end a summer on earth! It is the last week before kids head back to school. And although a week at Powell is meant to unwind from the stresses of life, Summer Solstice is equipped with Star Link just in case there are emergencies or the occasional work call or meeting that may need to be addressed (hopefully not too often). Summer Solstice has 1 Master suite with it’s own bathroom and 4 additional staterooms with an additional bathroom. It has the perfect layout with the reverse salon and the double sliding glass doors in the kitchen/living room that open up the entire back of the boat and those breathtaking Lake Powell views are simply an extension of your living space!
Annual dues $2,000 already PAID for this year!
Perhaps the 2 best features of this boat are the ownership group and the solar-power and updated battery bank.
First… Seasoned Lake Powellers will be the first to emphasize the significance of an ownership group that is transparent on how the boat runs and how the finances are being handled so as to ensure continued success, enjoyment and operations of the boat year after year. And this ownership group is second to none. They do an amazing job with everything from open communication, transparency with spending and usage of yearly dues, to regularly scheduled work parties to ensure proper maintenance and prioritized upgrades are done in a timely manner.
And second…(because of that above mentioned ownership group) Summer Solstice has 25 solar panels that produce over 400 watts each and we just upgraded the battery bank to 16 X 200 amp/hr 24 volt lithium ion batteries. We didn’t turn on the generator even one time last year during our trip at the beginning of August all while running A/C and everything else we needed with no sound or fumes of a generator in the background! Some may think solar is a nice added feature but it truly is an absolute game changer. It can save each owner those costly hours of running the generator which can add up to $1,000- $2,400 in savings per trip and extend the life of the generator by years, which is often one of the largest expenses for the owners.
