We’re looking for a new home for our two dogs due to a significant shift in our family’s ability to care for them. The dogs are healthy and social, but their daily needs no longer align with our current situation. We have owned both dogs since they were puppies. We'd like to see them stay together if possible. Bubba - 5 lb, black male - 3/4 poodle, 1/4 shih-tzu, 3-year-old “shihpoo”. Very curly poodle hair, grows pretty slow. Neutered, fully vaccinated. Affectionate and playful. Very smart, calm indoors. Will run away from little kids chasing but has never bitten our little kids. Doesn't mind crate time, but does need to be let out every 3ish hours or he will potty in the house if he's allowed to wander. If he's in his crate he will hold it, when he really needs to go he'll bark to be let out. Loves one orBo⁹ two 10-minute walks a day but can survive on one so long as he's let out a few times to do his business. He is small enough that he can get his playful needs met indoors. Spirit: 5-year-old female - 1/2 shihztu 1/2 poodle, 10 lbs, black and white. Unspayed, fully vaccinated. Somewhat crimped hair, grows very long like a shihtzu - if you want it long you have to brush it often. We usually get it cut every 3 months. Submissive, easygoing personality. Doesn't like the crate so much but is fine to be there if she has her companion. She will bark when she is alone in there and feels left out of socializing. Calm indoors. She has a harder time going #2 so we walk her longer than Bubba. She will potty inside after a few hours of left unattended. I've not been able to get them to let me know they need to be let out, but they do crate train well. Both dogs will bark when they hear someone come to the door. Or if people get rowdy and playful - they want to join in the fun and chase. House and potty trained to the extent explained above. Hypoallergenic and non-shedding Excellent with our young children and other dogs. Non-destructive, but will get into unattended garbage if left out. Very social and responsive to correction No health issues or medications Enjoy active environments (daily walks, play with them or they will play with each other) An ideal home includes: Preferably a small fenced area to go potty unattended. Consistent daily walk and playful engagement as well as snuggle/ petting time. Someone present enough not to leave them alone for more than 5 hours at a time. We prefer they stay together, but will consider separating if clearly best for each dog. Included with adoption:
All supplies we own - beds, crates, food, treats, bowls, leashes, and anything else related. If you believe you’re a serious fit, please message with: Your experience, living situation (yard, schedule, other animals, household details) Your typical day, and how the dogs would fit in Whether you’re open to taking both or think you’d be better suited for one. These dogs matter to us. We’re only moving forward with someone who is prepared to match their needs. We’d rather keep them longer than rehome them to someone unprepared. Meet and greet can be arranged to see if it's a good fit for them and you.
