GXSH40V Model. It's 7 years old and was softening water for our 5,300 sq/ft home just fine. It was working fine till the turning mechanism with an electric motor drive that spins to make it recharge, charge, etc. stopped turning. Called GE, it will take a new housing assembly and seals that are available. I have the parts breakdown of what it will take. The motor, drive and everything works, the turning mechanism is binding up because there is slight wear and it needs new rubber seals.

We are selling our home and didn't want to wait for a parts shipment. If someone is handy they can fix it but will have to wait a few weeks on the parts.

If someone wants it come and get it, otherwise I'll just haul it off. It will make a nice water softener for someone who is a little handy.
