VenmoDoor curtains or portieres as they are also called, were used in homes in doorways between rooms. Practically these hung in doorways to stop drafts, but also they offer a romantic and inviting transition by softening doorways. Most were made of fabric, but also strung beads, tassels, decorative cording, etc. These were popular not only during the Victorian Era, but also the early Arts and Crafts homes. This one hung in a Victorian home above a pocket door, as shown in the pictures. This one is unique because it is made out of wood and chains. This door curtain is 4 feet wide. The tallest part is 33 inches and the shortest part is 9 inches. The center is 13 inches. It comes with the hardware to hang it. This is a reproduction piece. These are very hard to find now and this particular one is just beautiful. Plus it is in excellent condition! Serious inquires only please. Only selling this item, nothing else in the pictures.
