We have a litter of eight Sheltie puppies (aka Shetland Sheepdog, or sometimes miniature Collie). The mother is a Sable Merle with one blue eye, and the father is a Mahogany Sable. Puppies were born January 9. We got a beautiful mix with four Blue Merles (some with varying blue in one or both eyes), a Golden Sable, and three Mahogany Sables. The parents are both a little larger than the average Sheltie, so we expect the pups to grow up in the same range. I've included their weights as of Feb 8 to give you a feel for the relative sizes.

1. Female Mahogany Sable, 1.64kg (partial white collar, right) $1100

2. Male Mahogany Sable, 1.63kg (partial white collar, right) $1000

3. Male Blue Merle, 1.42kg (full white collar, darker marbling) $1600

4. Female Blue Merle, 1.4kg (full white collar, lighter marbling) $1700

5. Female Blue Merle, 1.53kg (full white collar, medium marbling) $1700

6. Female Mahogany Sable, 1.6kg (suspected cryptic merle, will become clear as she grows) $1300

7. Female Blue Merle, 1.64kg (full white collar, asymmetrical, right side wider. Dark marbling) $1700

8. Male Golden Sable, 1.5kg (full white collar) In the last few days I've noticed some subtle marbling on his back so I suspect he's a cryptic merle. It will become more apparent as he grows. $1200

I have not DNA tested any of the pups to verify merle or suspected merle status, but I can do that if you're interested.

They will have their vaccines and a preventive deworming, and will be ready for adoption March 6, or if you would like earlier, not before March 1, in which case let me know as I usually vaccinate them the week prior to adoption.
