The General Electric Carbon Arc Searchlight stands as a powerful reminder of the home front defense systems employed during World War II. Designed to illuminate enemy aircraft during night raids, these massive searchlights played a critical role in coastal defense, anti-aircraft operations, and early radar-directed targeting. I've had this for several years hoping to start a business doing Grand Openings, Movie Premiers and many other things. I never got around to it and finally decided with my other businesses I'm involved with, I won't get to it at all. So I decided to sell it hoping someone else will take on this project and see it through. The motor is in great running condition. I changed to oil, added a new muffler, redid some of the old wiring and cleaned out the fuel tank. Someone would have fun putting it together. The light does need some work. I do not have the center feeding mechanism required for the light to work. Their are several groups out there that will have this for you. Parts are still available.
