ZelleHello World! Meet Sgt. Noodles, nickname "Noods."
This little guy is very special to us, so we are looking for a very special home for him. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
Noodles' mom was an active duty service member who left him in the care of a family member while she was away on deployment. Unbeknownst to her, the family member dumped him at the shelter!
Once we learned this, we agreed to hold onto him for the remainder of her deployment. He's been with us for about 9 months. We thought we'd be able to reunite them this January, but now she's being sent on another deployment overseas and cannot take him with her. She finally agreed to let us find a stable home for him. We are slowing down rescue operations due to an upcoming relocation, so we can't keep him either, otherwise we absolutely would - we love him to pieces!
He's a classic Blue Heeler - beautiful eyes, nice coat with stunning color pattern, tons of personality, moderate exercise needs, excellent leash skills, great recall, and sticks right by you when off leash, never wandering too far away. He'd make a great ranch dog, doesn't try to chase chickens, horses, or cattle and follows you all day long.
Now, being a heeler, he definitely has his own mind and thinks he makes the rules. He gets a little nippy when excited, so homes with small children are not recommended, (mainly due to the fact that we have no small kids around to test him with!).
Like many heelers, he turns into a gremlin in the presence of brooms, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, and anything with wheels. He's hysterically funny and totally weird, definitely needs a human who will appreciate his quirkiness. Oh, and he definitely LOVES the ladies. This little guy definitely prefers females over males.
He's been to a local board n' train, tons of group training and does well around other dogs after making his voice heard, but his off-leash play group social skills still need some more work. He runs and plays wonderfully with my dogs (Belgian Malinois) and I think it took about 2-3 weeks for him to become comfortable in the pack.
