We are looking to rehome our almost 4-year-old dog to the right, experienced home. This is not a decision we have made lightly. We love him deeply and want him to have the peaceful life he deserves.

During the first couple years of his life, he experienced multiple cluster seizures. Despite extensive veterinary care, no clear cause was identified. About two years ago, we switched him to a high-protein diet (Tractor Supply Retriever brand), and he has done remarkably well since then. He has not had a seizure in approximately two years.

However, the seizures appear to have caused lasting neurological changes. Over time, his behavior around our other dogs has progressively worsened. He now reacts as though he constantly needs to defend himself, even when the other dogs are calm and minding their own business. We suspect he may have partial vision loss as well, which may contribute to his anxiety and defensiveness.

Because of this, he needs to be the only pet in the home. We truly believe he would thrive in a quiet environment without other animals competing for space or attention. A securely fenced yard where he can run and play would be ideal.

He loves people and absolutely craves attention. He is affectionate, loyal, and wants to be close to his humans. He is also high energy and can be a jumper, so he would do best with someone who can provide structure and consistency.

He does have some potty training challenges, likely related to his seizure history, but he does well when taken out consistently or given plenty of time outside.

We are committed to finding him a safe, patient, and experienced home that understands medically complex dogs and is willing to give him the stability he needs. Our goal is simple: we want him to feel secure and happy.
