396 BBC dated D245. This engine was taken in for a core. The engine is original as far as I can tell because, the pistons measure 4.091at the skirt and have the original GM part #, it has Standard main and rod bearings in it and the heads match the block date code. I did not take the engine apart other than removing the oil pan to find out more about the engine. The owner told me it was running before he installed the engine I built for him, it has a rear main seal leak he said too. I did a leak down test on the cylinders and they ranged from 68 to 87 lbs. @ 100 psi.
