This fully restored 1890 Chickering 51" upright piano is a true showpiece of American piano craftsmanship—now completely restored inside and out, with original ivory keys.
We gave this piano a full rebuild: new strings, hammers, and bridge caps, a refinished soundboard with restored downbearing for full resonance, and a perfectly refinished plate with fresh lettering. The action was brought back to factory‑level precision, including 3D‑printed replacement parts for unique original fittings.
One standout feature is the ivory keys. Many were still in excellent condition, and for the worn ones, we replaced them with reclaimed ivory from our shop’s restoration inventory. This gives the piano an authentic look and feel rarely seen today. The casework, with its beautiful veneer and replica Chickering decal, now gleams after refinishing, and the replated pedals look brand‑new.
