This John Deere 260kW Tier 4 Final diesel generator was used briefly during construction of Amazon distribution centers. When Amazon shut down construction across multiple states in 2021–2022, the units were parked and have remained unused since. The generator was originally oversized from a planned 250kW unit to provide increased durability, reliability, and headroom for demanding applications.

Purchased new in 2022 for approximately $75,000 USD (original invoice CAD $99,910). Replacement cost today for an equivalent Tier 4 Final generator is approximately $82,000+ USD.

The generator has approximately 600 total operating hours. At this runtime, the engine is fully broken in and represents less than 5% of its expected service life, making it an excellent candidate for long-term prime or standby power use.
