VenmoHow old are they? I'm not exactly sure. I don't know when I got the washer my son was 5ish and could fit inside the tub. He's now twenty so the washer is about 15 yrs old. The dryer is probably 17ish. Is it a matching set? No, as you can see the dryer is a bit shorter than the washer. The dryer is a Whirlpool, the washer is LG. Why are there scratches on the side of the washer? Excellent question. Because the dryer is shorter it rubbed against the washer when the washer shook during the spin cycle. Do they work? Yes, they both work. The washer sometimes is a little tired after 4 or 5 loads and will go on break for 10 minutes or so. But she always comes back ready to go. Serious answer after several loads in a row the power button will just not turn on for tenish minutes. Walk away, have a coke, she's good to go. Dryer works well since the fire. Was it a real fire? Does a real fire require flames? If yes, then no, not a real fire. Just a "menopause" hot flash solved by a new mother board (or whatever the computer part is called). Serious answer, there wasn't a fire, but there was a hot smell. When we took it apart the green thing with wires was black. We replaced that and it's worked since then. Does it have storage in the base? The dryer does not. They were smart enough to know the machine needed to be taller, not smart enough to know that would be an excellent space to store dryer sheets. The washer is a little newer, I'm guessing by then they asked for a woman's input and she said make it usable.
