Trigger is the BEST house dog. He’s quiet, well, mannered, and the sweetest with individuals, families, and kids. Trigger is about 6 years old. We rescued him when he was about 6 months old-he had been abandoned. Trigger has been an important part of our family, so this is breaking our heart a lot. Here’s why we think he would thrive in a different environment: Trigger has decided that the ranch life is just too much for him. He cannot stop killing chickens or chasing horses. He also does not do well with ranch cats that roam free around the property. If he can get another dog in on the chase and get the cats to run he will chase them and catch them-ultimately resulting in injuring or killing the cat. We do not have house cats-but I strongly believe that in a house environment he would leave the cats alone. He just can’t resist the chase. Trigger LOVES being an inside house dog! He would be ideal for a family that spends some time hiking or walking but just wants a great, chill, low-maintenance dog. He would be ideal for a family, or also an older gentleman or couple that would love a loyal companion. We are having to keep him locked up ALL the time, or he gets into trouble with the ranch animals. I’m afraid he’s going to get kicked and killed, and I hate to feed his chicken addiction. We are not in a hurry, we love him too much to abandon him, but we are hoping to find him a more ideal situation. Trigger is a mixed breed-best guess is a cowboy corgi or collie/heeler mix FREE but it needs to be the right home.
