Venmo550 OBO Vintage Conn "Shooting Star" (Director series) Our specific instrument has a dent near the mouthpiece but is in great shape consistent with its age. It has been serviced with new pads 3 years ago and is used daily. It has a classic bold full sound and has been well maintained. My daughter is just ready to level up, and we know this can go on to teach another student the saxophone with excellent performance quality. One stopper key has come loose, and would need a space and a screw. (not necessary to play, but it isn't up to standard there, see photo) the case feet are recessed somewhat, but has done its job well to protect it all these years.
VALUE ASSESSMENT: These saxophones generally hold a modest, budget-friendly market value, typically ranging from$200 to $600+, depending on condition. Known as durable 1960s/70s student horns, they are valued for their classic sound, but often require, or are not worth, expensive repads for resale.
Key Value Factors: • Condition:Playing, well-maintained horns fetch $300-$600. Units needing work (non-playable) may sell for $200-$300 or less (often listed as "parts only").
Value Breakdown: • $200 - $350:"As-is," "needs work," or "parts" condition. • $350 - $600:Decent, playable, or recently serviced. • $600+:Exceptionally pristine, fully overhauled, or with original, high-quality accessories. While they are excellent, affordable, and durable vintage instruments, they are generally not considered investment pieces.
