The LM500 is an automatic self-leveling rotary laser level designed to project a stable, rotating horizontal laser plane. It’s used for establishing level reference lines over large indoor and outdoor areas — ideal for tasks like grading, excavation checking, setting foundations, landscaping, framing, and general site layout.
Automatic Self-Leveling — The instrument automatically adjusts to a level position when powered on, eliminating the need for manual bubble leveling. This ensures quick setup and accuracy.
Rotary Laser Beam — Emits a 360° horizontal rotating laser plane so a receiver can detect it around a full worksite.
Working Range — Typical range up to approximately 1000 ft (305 m) diameter with a compatible laser detector, which helps locate the beam outdoors or in bright conditions.
Dual Rotation Speeds — Often offers multiple rotation speeds (e.g., ~300 / 600 RPM) to balance visibility and power use depending on conditions.
Out-of-Level Safety Shut-Down — If the instrument is bumped and moves out of its self-leveling range, the laser can shut off to prevent inaccurate reference lines.
Battery-Powered — Usually runs on standard D-cell batteries (or renewable rechargeable batteries) for use on job sites without mains power.
Compatible with Detectors — Works with a universal laser detector (e.g., LD-400 described in manuals) that helps pick up the laser beam at distance.
Rugged & Weather-Resistant — Built to withstand jobsite conditions (dust and moisture resistance).
