Anyone riding this bike will be dubbed “Queen of the Hipsters”. The set up is pretty unique. The Steyr Clubman is a steel frame Austrian-made road bike from the 70s. This one has a single speed cog (not fixie), rear coaster brake and front rim brake. Frame size is small, probably about 49cm in modern terms, I guess it would fit someone 4’11” to 5’5”. I am into it for way over $200 but turns out it’s just a little small for anyone in the family.
Brand new parts include: front tire, saddle, chain, bar tape, brake pads, brake cable and housing. The rear tire and rim are like new. I just rebuilt the coaster brake and went over/tuned the whole bike. The 26 inch tires are nominally 1.5” wide, a little fatter than a road tire, more like a narrow cruiser. The bike rides nice and is ready to roll, but note: the geometry puts you in a pretty aggressive riding position.
There is little to no rust on the frame. It must have been kept out of the elements during it’s life. Everything works, ie no frozen bolts. You can easily adjust the seatpost, handlebars, saddle position, etc. There is a tiny bit of surface rust on the pedals and the front rim spindle, but that’s minor and overall the bike is in nice shape cosmetically. You will get compliments!
Serious offers only, the price is firm considering all the new parts and labor. Places that sell retro bikes would probably list this at $300-$400, for a bike in the same ready-to-ride condition.
